Do you want to take a stand against the use of torture and the detention facilities at Guantánamo Bay? Have you seen the orange men around the city? Follow them to the National Mall this Friday, January 11th, to help us make a difference and raise awareness of the injustices at Guantánamo Bay!
This January 11th marks the 6th anniversary of the first transfer of detainees to Guantánamo Bay. Congress, the White House, the Supreme Court need to hear from the American people that a sixth anniversary of Guantánamo is unacceptable.
We need *you* to attend the rally in Washington, DC on the National Mall to help us send a clear message to stop torture and close Guantánamo.
Event details: When: 11am on Friday, January 11th, 2008 Where: National Mall, Washington, DC (Smithsonian Metro – National Mall Exit)
Join Amnesty International and co-sponsors the National Religious Campaign Against Torture, Center for Constitutional Rights, Torture Abolition and Survivors Support Coalition and Witness Against Torture on January 11th and help us tell Congress, the White House, and the Supreme Court that six years is too long. It's time to stop torture and close Guantánamo.
